The Iced Coffee That Started It All

The Iced Coffee That Started It All

Let me tell you something — I was out here spending an embarrassing amount of money on iced coffee. Like, rent money levels of embarrassing. Every single day, like clockwork, handing over my hard-earned cash for what is essentially cold coffee in a cup.

And then one day it hit me. What the hell am I doing?

I went home, brewed some coffee, threw it over ice, added some milk, and nearly fell over. It was BETTER than what I'd been buying. BETTER. For approximately 40 cents.

I was furious. Delighted. Mostly furious.

This is that recipe. It's stupid easy and I'm a little mad it took me this long.

Simple Homemade Iced Coffee

Serves 2 (or just you, twice, no judgment)

  • 2 cups strong brewed coffee (cooled — yes, actually let it cool, I know you're impatient)
  • 1 cup milk or cream (whatever's in your fridge, live your life)
  • 2 tbsp sugar or sweetener of choice
  • A ridiculous amount of ice

Instructions

Brew your coffee strong. Stronger than you think. Let it cool, or dump it straight over ice if you have zero patience like me. Add your milk and sweetener. Stir. Taste it. Adjust. Taste it again. Feel smug.

That's it. You're done. Go cancel your coffee shop subscription.
